RE: DANCE FESTIVAL COMMUNICATION (COVID-19 Safety Initiative)
It is with heavy hearts that we will be cancelling the upcoming Vermilion Ukrainian Dance Festival that was to be held on April 24-26, 2020. As we have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 Pandemic and the most recent update received from the Alberta Provincial Medical Officer, Dr. Deena Hinshaw, we do not believe the situation will improve prior to our Festival.
We will provide a full refund to all the clubs and schools attending this year in due course. There may be an option, if you prefer, to carry over your registration from our 2020 festival as a credit toward the 2021 festival. This will be communicated in a follow up letter.
Our Festival Team, VUCA Executive and Samotsvit Dancers are extremely humbled and grateful to everyone who chose to participate in the VUDF this year. This would have been our 22nd annual Festival and one of our largest attended festivals to date.
The economic consequence of cancelling this major fundraising initiative for a small club like ours, living in a small rural community, has crippling results for both our club and our business community in Vermilion. We humbly ask that you consider our Festival again next year, which will be held on, April 16-18, 2021. We would love the opportunity for our community to host your club and family and provide an experience second to none.
Our Festival Team, VUCA Executive and Samotsvit Dancers thank you for your continued support and understanding. We wish you the best health and safety throughout the next few months.
