KASSANDRA STANTON
Kassandra joined VUCA in the 2019-2020 season. She was born in Westlock, AB and grew up on an acreage outside of the town of Athabasca. Following the suit of her siblings, Kassandra entered Ukrainian Dance at the age of five with the Athabasca Ukrainian Folk Dance Club (AUFDC) and continued there until graduation in 2008, where she joined the Camrose Veselka Ukrainian Dance Society. In June of 2010, Kassandra was welcomed into the Vohon Ukrainian Dance Ensemble where she continues to dance and be actively involved with their society today.
Kassandra began teaching Ukrainian dance in 2005 as an assistant with AUFDC, and was invited to teach the Camrose Veselka Dancers in September of 2010 after completing Shumka Syllabus Dance Academy’s (SDSA) Tier 1 certification. Kassandra Currently guest teaches the Vatra Ukrainian Dancers.
Kassandra’s credentials include completion of the SDSA Tier one program, is a certified Zumba Instructor, and carries a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alberta in Physical Education, as well as a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta. Kassandra currently works in pediatric rehabilitation in the Camrose area, with a special interest in the foot and orthotics.
